Hwapocheon Wetland Eco Tour with Airbnb x KTO Review
Experience Korea from wherever you are, and travel later
This virtual tour introduced me to a hidden gem for international travelers like me. It's fun to go on a tour with a knowledgeable guide. We visited Hwapocheon Wetland and Bongha Village in Gimhae city, the childhood home of former President Rho, the 16th President of South Korea. After the President retired and returned to his hometown, he established this country village farm with environmentally friendly agriculture.
The Bongha Village is located on the foothills of the Bonghwasan mountain. Jinyeong sweet persimmons and rice are its main products. Former Korean President Roh Moo-hyun was born in a brick house with a slate roof, consisting of two small rooms and a kitchen. Hwapocheon Ecological Park is a river-type wetland with beautiful scenery and well-preserved wetlands. It stretches out from Hwapo Stream and reaches the middle of Nakdong River. It also serves as a natural filter, purifying water inflow from nearby factories and farmlands. The Korea Tourism Organization named it one of the top 25 non-face-to-face tourist destinations for spring.
Ms. Song, our beautiful and friendly guide, gave a detailed description of each area in a friendly manner. Her English is excellent and simple to comprehend. Since the tour was entirely live, I was able to communicate in real time with Ms. Song, who read and responded the chat constantly. Because of the camera angles, it appeared that I was strolling beside the guide.
The hidden gem locations from this tour will undoubtedly be included in my travel itinerary! It can be a short-day trip from Busan. I also witnessed ducks, swans, KTX trains, sunsets, kids running around, and other things in real time, so this tour felt really realistic! With the nature of rural village and sunset, this tour is kind of a healing and soothing tour for me. I'm not going to go into too much depth in this review because I don't want to give anything away about the tour.
At a time when we are unable to travel to Korea, this journey will heal your soul. I had a lovely time on the virtual tour thanks to Ms. Song! Thank you, Ms. Song, Airbnb and KTO so much for a wonderful experience.
