Kyochon Pilbang, Famous Korean Fried Chicken Flagship in Itaewon, Seoul
My Experience at Kyochon Pilbang,
Famous Korean Fried Chicken Flagship in Itaewon, Seoul
Kyochon is a popular Korean fried chicken chain with over 1,000 locations worldwide. Their flagship store, Kyochon Pilbang, is located in Itaewon, Seoul, and is a must-visit for any fan of Korean fried chicken.
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Kyochon Pilbang (교촌필방) in Itaewon, and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Pilbang Quatro Signatures, which includes four of Kyochon's signature fried chicken flavors: Soy, Red, Honey, and Black. I also ordered the Grilled Tteokbokki, which is a combination of charcoal-grilled rice cakes with spicy tteokbokki sauce.
The Pilbang Quatro Signatures was a great way to try four of Kyochon's most popular fried chicken flavors. The platter comes with a variety of chicken pieces, including drumsticks, wings, and thighs. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
The Soy flavor was the most traditional, with a simple but delicious soy sauce-based sauce. The Red flavor was a bit spicier, with a gochujang-based sauce. The Honey flavor was the sweetest, with a honey-based sauce. The Black flavor was the most unique, with a black pepper-based sauce. The sauces were all flavorful and well-balanced.
All four of the fried chicken flavors were delicious, but my personal favorite was the Soy flavor.
The Grilled Tteokbokki was also delicious. The rice cakes were chewy and flavorful, and the tteokbokki sauce was spicy but not too overpowering. (Although it's a bit spicy for me, since I'm not good at spicy food.) I especially liked the charcoal-grilled flavor of the rice cakes.
The flagship restaurant offers premium dishes, which are slightly more expensive than their existing menu items. Additionally, the store has created a private room where customers can savor Omakase-style fried chicken.
I had a wonderful dining experience at Kyochon Pilbang in Itaewon because of the amazing event, #KoreaBucketList by KTO. Thank you so much. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and I loved the traditional Korean interior design. I highly recommend Kyochon Pilbang to anyone looking for a great Korean fried chicken experience.
PS. The portions are generous, so be sure to come hungry.
