A Taste of Nonsan in Bangkok

Korean strawberries, renowned for their intense sweetness and unique growing methods, have long captivated the taste buds of many, myself included. 

As a Thai citizen, the opportunity to savor these beloved berries often coincides with winter trips to Korea. However, this year, the delightful surprise arrived right at our doorstep with the 2024 Nonsan Strawberry Festival held in Bangkok.

The festival spanned across three areas of the department store on the M floor, Fashion Hall on the 1st floor, and Fashion Gallery, also on the 1st floor. The atmosphere was lively, decorated in shades of pink, and filled with the irresistible aroma of strawberries.

The event offered a diverse selection of fresh strawberry varieties, each boasting its own unique characteristics. I couldn't resist trying the King's Berry, known for its impressive size and bursting sweetness. And beyond just the berries, there were plenty of delightful strawberry-based treats like cakes, Tanghulu, and freshly baked goods to enjoy.

The festival also featured some Korean cultural activities. I participated in a fun DIY workshop where I learned to paint a traditional Korean fan. Additionally, I had fun at the photo booth, where I got to virtually try on a beautiful Hanbok with scenic views of Korea as the backdrop. The Korea Tourism Organization booth provided valuable information and resources for planning future trips, providing invaluable insights and recommendations for exploring Korea.

The stage came alive with captivating performances, showcasing the vibrant energy of Korean culture. Energetic T-POP artists, including We;Na, Great Guys, PiXXiE, Plan B, and Proxie, delivered pulsating performances, while inspiring demonstrations of Taekwondo left the audience speechless.

The 2024 Nonsan Strawberry Festival in Bangkok was an unforgettable experience. It offered a delightful blend of sweet treats, cultural immersion, and captivating performances, leaving me with a lasting taste of Nonsan and a heart full of warm memories. I can't wait to visit Korea again soon.
