GOONON, ON Moonlight Tour with Mother-of-Pearl Changdeokgung Palace Kit Review

Another year with K-influencer program, it's such a great opportunity to experience the ‘Goongon’, ON Moonlight Tour once again with a different kit than last year. 

This year, K-influencers got the ON Moonlight Tour kit which expresses the moonlight with natural mother-of-pearl. We can enjoy the night view of the Changdeokgung Palace guided by the light of the Cheongsa-chorong through a video wherever we are.

Korean mother-of-pearl hand-craft experiential program 

“Najeon” is a traditional Korean hand-craft technique in which mother-of-pearl from seashells are attached to the surface or embedded in objects to decorate it. 

The traditional Najeon craft techniques that were passed down to date include cutting mother-of-pearl shell lining into wanted shapes and affixing, cutting it into long string-like pieces at wanted length and connecting them, and cutting it into smaller fragments and sprinkling them on the product.

The inside of this beautiful Changdeokgung Palace night view box consists of 

- ON Moonlight Tour at the Changdeokgung Palace Manual and Instruction 

- Two Changdeokgung Palace illustrated postcards

- Mother-of-pearl Kits including the natural mother-of-pearl shell linings, mother-of-pearl coating solution, paint brush, wooden stick, cotton bud.

I had an experience with the mother-of-pearl workshop in Korea a few years ago so I’m kind of familiar with all the tools provided in the package. This time it is by attaching mother-of-pearl pieces on drawings.

The mother-of-pearl shell linings are so delicate and easy to break that you must handle or cut them attentively. The challenge is that there are a few mother-of-pearl shell linings left which you can attach them anywhere you using your imagination. 

There is a QR Code on the back side of the manual which directs you to the video of night view of Changdeokgung Palace embracing the moonlight! 

The video has an English subtitle so everyone can enjoy the experience smoothly. The video is like a Korean historical movie with beautiful music in the background.
